Welcome!
When a new homeowner moves into Mirrormont, our Welcome Committee does its best to bring by a Welcome Bag that contains information about your new community. Contact Welcome@mirrormont.org so we can schedule a visit.
Welcome Bags include a welcome newsletter with emergency/non-emergency contact numbers, local area attractions and hikes, maps, newsletters, and gifts for you.
Our volunteer will go over the important information in the Welcome Bag, such as joining the Mirrormont Community Association, signing up for Nextdoor Mirrormont, the MCA Covenants, local wildlife, and how to live on a septic system. We explain how the optional $50/year dues are used to support the Spring Cleanup, Community Garage Sale, adult social events, children’s parties, and many other activities.
If you’ve never lived with a septic system before, you need to be aware of certain Do’s and Don’ts to avoid very expensive consequences: https://www.epa.gov/sites/default/files/2017 07/documents/septicsmart_week_flyer_082415_508-v2.pdf And locate your septic tank and drain field soon after moving in, before they become overgrown or you accidentally plant or build over them.
To find out more about your new community, you can read the newsletters posted on the website. For example, the 2021 newsletter contains a story about a kind mystery carver who leaves gifts in mailboxes.
All residents are welcome to attend the MCA Board’s monthly meetings, which are held the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Mirrormont Clubhouse.

Fun fact: Buy a Home in Mirrormont for $30,000 Developer Rod Loveless and realtor Glenn Nordlie created Mirrormont in 1962 with the purchase of 680 acres that were subdivided into 586 plots. Shortly thereafter, Boeing lost a big Bomarc contract (to build a missile) and property values all over the area fell. They had a hard time getting this development off the ground. Back then, houses here were selling for about $30,000 or less and our shy-acre lots for $2,950.
